Rose was our first show
Akita. She was purchased as a foundation bitch for our
kennel. Rose had all the virtues we were looking for. She had
size & type & her Sire CH. Goshen's Bigger is Better at
Redwitch had exceptional breed type, colour & movement.
Roses breeder wanted a dog puppy back to show, so a joint
decision was made to go back to Redwitch for a choice of stud
dog. The Redwitch kennels offered us a young male that had not
been used at stud before & invited us to go and see him. When
Billy was brought out of his kennel my first thought was WOW!
What a beautiful dog, Rose went on to produce an outstanding
litter, Maria got her male (Rupert) & I got Suki.
Billy was later exported to America where he gained his title
in 2 weekends on the Florida circuit. The first Akita to be
sent to America by the Redwitch kennel.

Suki had an impressive show
career, having constant wins at championship shows. She was a
contender for the Akita Association Dog of the Year
competition, having been awarded a Reserve Challenge
Certificate. Even into her later years Suki had some great
wins including 3 Best Veteran in Shows at The National
Speciality. Reserve Best Bitch in Show at The National
Speciality from the Veteran class. 2nd Veteran bitch at the
age of 9 years at Crufts 2005.
